We are hatching or own eggs!!!
Why? Because we need to refresh our laying flock, AND we don't want to pay for chicks when we have a rooster and fertilized eggs of our own.
This year we invested in our own incubator.
Why? Because we can! Not to mention, the whole process is really cool for the kiddos (including the big kids... you know, Chris and I) to experience.

Today we candled them and we were able to see the little baby chicks moving around.
The best part for me was when my three year old son said, "I'm glad Daddy got the incubator! This is really cool."
We have two more weeks before the chicks hatch so keep your eyes peeled for an update and a post containing useful information about hatching your own chicks!
